Analysis of the main traits and establishment of highthroughput phenotypic fingerprint pattern for different pakchoi varieties

【摘要】:Pakchoi(Brassica campestris ssp.Chinensis Makino),which originated in China with rich germplasm resources,is one of the most widely cultivated leafy vegetable crops in China.Genome duplication results in the retention of many more copies of some genes associated with morphological variation,which may be the main reason for the abundant morphological changes in roots,stems and leaves of Pakchoi.In order to better study the phenotypic differences of different varieties of Pakchoi and to explore the phenotypic changes rule during vegetative growth,we chose 36 representative Pakchoi varieties,which are common varieties from all over the country and basically contain all the phenotypic characteristics of Pakchoi.They can reflect the diversity of germplasm resources to the maximum extent.Through phenotypic imaging combined with high-throughput image processing software,we conducted the continuous measurement and analysis of the seven of these varieties throughout the life history.We carried out weekly imaging of the top,0 ° and 90 ° sides under the visible light,and examined various parameters of each Pakchoi variety from successive days.The phenotypic data obtained include seed germination rate,hypocotyls area,plant height,plant width,roundness,circumference,compactness,convex hull area,convex hull circumference,object extent X,minimum enclosing circle diameter,minimum enclosing rectangle area,leaf projection area,leaf color,petiole color,bolting length etc.The data cover all the different stages of growth and development of Pakchoi.Through the mapping of phenotypic fingerprints,we expected to get the parameters which can best reflect the diversity of Pakchoi.These results can assist researchers or breeders in more efficient Pakchoi breeding.
