Splenectomy and its effect on bovine immunologic function

【摘要】:正Objective To use a new method of splenectomy and to investigate its influence on immunologic function. Methods Spleens of 6 buffaloes were removed through the 12th rib. Venous blood samples were obtained before splenectomy and 4h, 24h, 3d, 7d ,14d after splenectomy. Results The rate of T-LTT first up and then down, and to the hightest at 3rd day, but increased insignificantly( p0.05 ); The total RBC first decreased and then increased after splenectomy, but fewer than that of before splenetomy. The total WBC increased at 4h and then decreased. Increased significantly at 4h, 24h and 3rd day (P0.05) , recovering at 7rd day after operation. Percentage of ST and SG first increased and then decreased after splenectomy, but more than that of before splenetomy and increased significantly at 3 rd day and 7rd day (P0.05 ). Percentage of lymphocyte first decreased and then increased after splenectomy, and decreased significantly at lh and 4h(P0.05). Conclusions The splenectomy through the 12th rib is a new and better method for big animal.lmmunologic function of baffaloes was suppressed post-splenetomy.
