A New Area related to Learning and Memory in the mammalian Brain
【摘要】：正CT: Learning and memory are very important functions of the brain and attract wide interests. A new subterfitory, the marginal division (MrD), consisting mainly of spindle-shaped neurons was discovered at the caudal most extent of the mammalian striatum. MrD exhibited a flat pan-shaped zone by computer-aided three-dimensional reconstruction technique. Many neuropeptidergic reactivities were expressed in MrD. Based on the cellular morphology, immunohistochemistry and connection patterns, MrD distinguishes itself from the rest of striatum Depression of learning and memory of the rat was revealed by the Y-maze test following chemical lesions of bilateral MrDs. Functional connections were observed between the Hippocumpus, amygdala, basal nucleus of Meynert and MrD by Proto-oncogene c-fos expression method. Hippocumpus, amygdala and basal nucleus of Meynert are known structures involved with learning and memory. Therefore the MrD was affirmed correlating to the learning and memory of the brain. Using the patch-clamp technique, nAchR ion channels were recorded in acutely dissociated neurons of MrD. The nCheR is a well known factor contributing in the mechanism of learning and memory. This channel probably is one of the factors involved in the mechanism of the learning and memory of the MrD.
