The mechanisms by which neural adhesion molecules modulate responses to diffusible guidance cues
【摘要】:正Guidance of growth cones to their synaptic targets during neural development by necessity uses a limited number of guidance cues that fall into two broad categories, diffusible and contact-dependent.However,it is clear from the huge number of specific connections that form, that such guidance cues must be used in combinations and that their effects must be integrated.Using the innervation of the dorsal horn by primary spinal sensory axons as a paradigm,we explore the mechanisms by which immunoglobulin-like neural adhesion molecules, notably L1(L1CAM) and TAG-1 (CNTN2),modulate responses to repulsive diffusible guidance factors such as semaphorin3A.
