Reversing the Cytotoxicity of Bile Acids by Cyclodextrin-based Supramolecular Assembly

【摘要】:正In this talk, our recent endeavors on the construction of some cyclodextrin-based bioactive supramolecular systems will be introduced, with the aim of reversing the cytotoxicity of bile acids by supramolecular complexation.Some biocompatible β-cyclodextrin derivatives possessing ammonium sites were synthesized, which showed enhanced binding affinity with bile acids,especially with the hepatotoxic deoxycholic and chenodeoxycholic acids.Biological assessments at cellular level and in animal mode jointly demonstrate that the inclusion complexation of bile acids can facilitate the clearance of bile acids, thus leading to the dramatic recovery of cell viability and liver function.Thus, it is believed that the supramolecular complexation with modified cyclodextrins can be developed as a promising therapy in the treatment of bile acid-related diseases.
