Spatiotemporal dynamics of coupled nonlinear oscillators on complex networks
【摘要】:正In this article, we briefly outline out recent work on the spatiotemporal dynamics of coupled nonlinear oscillators on complex networks. We considered a variety of node's dynamics such as chaotic oscillator, noisy relaxation oscillator, and limit cycle oscillators. Interesting phenomena are found including taming spatiotemporal chaos by adding random shortcuts, optimal coherent motion of noisy relaxation oscillators, oscillator death on small-world networks. The dynamics on complex networks has gained extensive attention in recent years. Typically, studies of this topic can be categorized into two main groups. One of them is to explore the topological properties of complex networks and various mechanisms to determine the topology. The other, which is more important, is studying how the network's topology can influence the dynamic features of the system. There has been a vast of literature devoted to the first group, while mush less to the second one. And among the much less studies on the latter, a lot of work has been contributed to the important issue of synchronization problem. Here in the present article, we briefly report some of our recent work on spatiotemporal dynamics of coupled nonlinear systems, other than synchronization.
