The Re-Emergence of Africa in the 21st Century:Achievements and Challenges in Transformation and Stability?
【摘要】:At the beginning of the twenty-first century African governments and mainstream commentators asserted that the new millennium belonged to the continent. This optimism was in response to the distressed state of development affairs that had confronted many African states at the end of the 20 th Century which jettisoned Africa to the margins of the global political and economic order. Even in IR Theory, the dispensation towards Africa was defined through the lens of the various internal and external catastrophes and contradictions that characterized the African state and led to the prevailing view that Western scholarship and tautology offered appropriate frameworks for Africa's development.
