东西方对优秀人才的历史观点比较(英文)

【摘要】：One of the most recent and controversial strategies to empower graduate programs with a specific focus on excellence in research is to make a "world-class" research university. However, the very term is not by any means an analytic one and therefore is not a very clear term of reference for scholarly discussions. Since no attempt has been made to construct a true global history of higher education, in the use of the term an unabashedly "Eurocentric" discourse prevails. The selected- out tradition are Asian,pre-modern Indian, Muslim and African (Jenne,Goa Timbuku), to list least. We have seen enough such distortions from the discourse on the "modern" education which in fact means the western education.
