国家、主流宗教社群与宗教共存:来自印度的经验(英文)
【摘要】:正The theoretical intent of this paper is to demonstrate that 'ethnic relations' as it is usually understood in social science is not germane to co-existence of religious communities within a polity. On the contrary,ethnification--a process through which religious minorities are defined and treated as outsiders to the polity-creates considerable rupture between religious groups and communities.Conversely, the process of nationalization of religious minorities, that is accepting them as insiders to the polity, considerably facilitates the process of co-existence.In these processes-nationalisation and ehtnification-both the state and the majority religious community play crucial roles.Similarly, the proclivity on the part of minority religious communities to resort to self-ghettoisation and alienation are hindrances for meaningful co-existence.In facilitating the process of co-existence it is necessary that the State should have appropriate legislative provisions in place but they are not sufficient. Those who man the State should also have the moral courage to stand by the legal provisions and implement them. That is,the tendency on the part of the State to succumb to majoritarian pressures is not conducive for the co-existence of religions.
