Advances of Equivalent Modeling Theory and Method in the Analysis and Design of Electromagnetic Metamaterials
【摘要】：Electromagnetic metamaterials(EMM) are a new kind of artificial synthetic material, and they have attracted extensive attention from academia and industry because of their special electromagnetic properties that natural substances do not possess. This paper reviews recent advances of equivalent modeling theory and method in the analysis and design of electromagnetic metamaterials. First,equivalent parameters extraction methods of electromagnetic metamaterials based on effective medium theory is briefly summarized. Second, material parameter synthesis using equivalence principle is introduced. Finally, the design method of electromagnetic metamaterials based on wave spectrum expansion theory is proposed,which is validated and illustrated with a five-element dipole antenna array by Altair Feko~(TM).
