Application of computing modelling technology for plant phenotyping

【摘要】:Variation of organ morphology is a very common phenomenon in the nature,the genetic mechanism of this phenomenon is still one of the important unsolved mysteries of life science.In order to quantify variation in shape and size,a computational shape modelling method was developed to capture allometric variation both within and between these different organs.In this framework,we observed that changes in size are often accompanied by changes in shape,reflecting an interaction between developmental and selective constraints.Using the method as a phenotyping technique could lead to novel insights for traditional measurement of organ variation.
