Optimisation of the Front Contact for Low to Medium Concentrations in LGBC Silicon Solar Cells

【摘要】:正 The current shortage of polysilicon feedstock and the demand for large PV installations opens the potential for concentrator systems. The LGBC cell technology is particularly suitable for concentrator technology as high current carrying capacity can be structured into the cell with minimal shading by the metallization. The laser cutting technology also means a range of sizes can easily be cut from the basic 125×125 mm p-square wafer. Different levels of concentration require different wafer sizes and gid and bus bar optimisations. Experimetal results for 30Xconcnetration are given together with modelling of the optimisation of the front contact for concnetrations up to 12X. I~2R losses require that the cell sixe to reduce to prevet excessive power loss in the bus bar.
