Disspaton theory for open quantum systems in nonlinear coupling environment

【摘要】:The quest of an exact and nonperturbative treatment of quantum dissipation in non-Gaussian coupling environments remains in general an intractable task. In this work we address both the physical and mathematical issues on open quantum systems in a class of non-Gaussian coupling environments. As an illustration we consider explicitly a harmonic bath coupled quadratically with an arbitrary system, and identify the basic physical requirement on the non-Gaussian bath model. We then construct a novel dissipaton-equation-of-motion(DEOM)formalism to an exact and nonperturbative treatment of the entangled system-andbath dynamics [1,2]. To validate the underlying algebraic construction, we derive in parallel also an extended Zusman equation via a totally different approach,followed by prove that the DEOM, if it starts also with the Zusman-equation setup,constitutes the resolutions to the latter formalism. Thus, we verify by de facto the novel dissipaton algebra, by which not only the quadratic but also higher-order nonlinear bath couplings can be readily treated via the hierarchically coupled dissipatons dynamics. We report the benchmark results on model systems dynamics as the interplay between linear and quadratic bath couplings.
