Imaging the cytoskeleton structure with super-resolution fluorescence microscope
【摘要】：Fluorescence microscope is a widely used technology in biology and medicine because of its specificity, labeling efficiency, and the capability of live cell imaging. However, due to the light diffraction, the spatial resolution of fluorescence microscope is limited by the used light and is around 250 nm. Many important questions in biology and medicine was still obscured because of the lack of proper imaging tools. In this talk, I will introduce the concept of super-resolution fluorescence microscope and discuss the different ways to achieve the spatial super-resolution. Then I will talk the recent progress that has been made by super-resolution fluorescence microscope technology and the preliminary results from my lab. We recently found some interesting cytoskeleton structure from hair cells in the auditory system. With further development of better probes, we expect more important findings in both biology and medical science fields by super-resolution fluorescence microscope.
