The preparation, structure and properties of NBR/MMT nanocomposites
【摘要】：正 NBR/montmorillonite (MMT) nanocomposites were prepared by twin-screw extruder, twin-roll mill and solution blending respectively. The result of comparison showed that higher shear strength can decrease the dispersed domain size of MMT and increase the mechanical properties of NBR/MMT nanocomposites. The Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) showed that in the NBR/MMT nanocomposites prepared by twin-screw extruder, the layers of MMT were dispersed in matrix homogeneously on the nanometer level, and its average thickness was 20 run and average length was 150 nm. The mechanical properties of NBR/MMT nanocomposites prepared by twin-screw extruder were higher than that of NBR/MMT composites prepared by twin-roll mill. The mechanical research showed that the mechanical properties of NBR/MMT nanocomposites were superior to NBR/carbon black (CB). The Dynamic Mechanical Analy sis(DMA)result was that Tg of NBR/MMT nanocomposites was -32.1℃, and the Tg of NBR/CB was -28.9℃. The adding of MMt played an important role in decreasing the Tg of composites. Another study result was that the flame retardance of NBR/MMT nanocomposites was improved, and with the increase of the amount of MMT, the flame retardance of NBR/MMT nanocomposites was increased.
