Establishment and operation of the integrated full and semi-automatic intelligent sorting system for i.v. admixtures in PIVAS
【摘要】：OBJECTIVE: Pharmacy Intravenous Admixture Services(PIVAS) have become one of the main forms that could strengthen the management of drugs to ensure the safety and quality of intravenous medications for patients nowadays. With large number of patients received by hospitals in China, the workload of PIVAS has risen a lot, and the sorting work for the great deal of i.v. admixtures had become one of the most difficult part for PIVAS. To make the sorting work of i.v. admixtures in PIVAS more efficient, we want to explore a new way to manage all types of i.v. admixtures and trace their data during the whole process. METHODS: Pharmacy department of our hospital established an integrated full and semi-automatic intelligent sorting system for the i.v. admixtures provided by PIVAS, and designed a PIVAS management system which could trace every i.v. admixture provided by PIVAS during the whole process. RESULTS: The system could be able to manage all kinds of i.v. admixtures, has reduced the sorting time by one third and the error rate to almost 0 from 0.5%. Moreover, the supporting software could trace the state and direction of every i.v. admixture to make sure of exact and timely i.v. medications for patients. CONCLUSIONS: The sorting system have effectively solved the mistakes made by manual sorting or old systems, so that the sorting accuracy rates have reached almost 100%, which have played an important role in promoting safety and reasonably i.v. medications in our hospital.
