Subtle and Progressive: Alice Munro's Feminist Concern in “A Wilderness Station”
【摘要】：Alice Munro‘s feminist concern has been a recurring issue among critics for some time. Munro critics usually see Munro as a traditional feminist: some illustrates from the female subjectivity and female desire in her works, some focuses on Munro‘s female identity in her stories, and some others excavates her motherhood in her works. However, I believe Munro‘s feminism is never that simple. Though these critics did shed some light on Munro‘s feminist concern, they seem to miss the subtlety of Munro‘s narrative. Drawing on one typical text from Munro‘s Open Secrets, this paper intends to illustrate Munro‘s subtle and progressive feminist concern through the analysis of "A Wilderness Station."
