Schema-Theoretic View of Text Selection in EFL Reading Classroom
【摘要】:Reading comprehension is one of the major activities in many EFL(English as Foreign Language)classrooms.Recent researches based on the schema-theoretic view of reading show that reading comprehension is an interactive process between texts and readers'background knowledge.If readers lack the schema or activate an inappropriate schema,they may miss the meaning of the text.This paper aims at developing and activating students'background knowledge to facilitate EFL reading through choosing appropriate reading materials.
