A Reconsideration of English Teachers' Transition from Teaching General English to Academic English:Critique and Continuation of G.Campion's Report
【摘要】：Teaching English for Academic Purposes(EAP) is a much-discussed topic in English education these days worldwide. Especially the latest three decades witness the great increase in research interest in this field and in publication of relevant research articles and books(Hyland and Hamp-Lyons,2002). In this report, my research focus is English teachers' transition to TEAP and it is also the reflection from the critique on G. Campion's study of the same topic in exploring teachers' views on the transition from teaching General English to Academic English; her article being published in Journal of English for Academic Purposes, 2016(23), 59-70. This article firstly critiques Campion's report. In summary, her study seems in its infant stage and capable of being enriched, though her study on teachers' transition is worthwhile, pioneering and constructive. The second half of the article elucidates my design and conduct which has the aim to further Campion's research into Chinese education context, followed by the analysis and discussion on the supplementary data.
