Commensal bacterial expressing Blc~(E84) disrupts intestinal epithelial barrier and induces inflammation

【摘要】：正Background: Alteration of commensal bacterial composition is associated with diarrhoea pathogenesis.However, few study to pin point the function of specific genes encoded by bacteria in regulating intestinal inflammation.Results: By screening 3,983 E. coli mutants, we found that absence of bacterial lipocalin (blc) activated innate immunity in C. elegans. We further identified a SNP in several diarrhoeagenic E. coli strains that encode BlcE84, different from the BlcG84 in non-pathogenic bacteria. Exposure to BlcE84 bacteria caused decrease of lysophosphatidylethanolamine (LPE) in intestine, leading to gut epithelial barrier disruption and
