The immune score as a new possible predictive tool and classification for hepatocellular carcinoma
【摘要】：Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is an extremely poor prognostic malignancy due to postoperative recurrence and metastasis. Common cancer staging sysyem based only on tumor invasion parameters provid limited information in estimating post-operative outcome of patients. In some tumors, patients within the same histological tumor stage been found have a significantly vary clinical outcome. In this study, precise quantification been performed on whole serial sections from 111 surgical resection tissue in HCC patients to determine the feasibility of the Immunescore classification in HCC. Our results suggest that CD8+ and CD3+ cells density was lower in the center of the tumor(CT) region compared with the invasive margin(IM) region. Further, densities of CD8+ and CD3+ cells in CT and IM were statistically significantly associated with favorable DFS and OS. Finally, patients with the lower Immunoscore to be significantly associated with death during long-term follow-up, which demonstrated Immunescore as a prognostic factor and a component of cancer classification in HCC patients.
