A Design for a Special Corpus for English Listening Teaching
【摘要】:A listening corpus can provide rich, authentic, vivid and interesting resources for English learners. With the introduction of corpus to college English listening teaching, students’ learning interest and enthusiasm will be greatly motivated; meanwhile, it can provide necessary learning resources for students to go on autonomous learning and improve their learning efficiency. However, some problems exist in the current listening corpus: Sources of the listening materials are narrow and unnatural; moreover, the system’s functions are relatively monotonous. When listeners learn online, functions such as broadcasting a clip, online testing and adjusting the speed of broadcast can not be realized. Therefore, the author presents a special type of design for the listening corpus. The purpose is to enlarge sources for listening corpus, so that listening materials in the corpus are richer and fresher; moreover, functions of the system will be expanded and listeners will use it more conveniently. This corpus system will play a major role in promoting solving the problems in current College English listening teaching and improving the teachers’ teaching effect and students’ autonomous learning efficiency.
