Numerical simulation of unsteady flow past moving bodies using multiple reference lattice Boltzmann method

【摘要】:正In this paper,we propose a lattice Boltzmann model using multiple reference frames to treat moving boundary problems for solid objects moving in a fluid.The idea is to simulate the flow in multiple reference frame systems,i.e.the inertial reference frame fixed in space and the mobile ones fixed to the moving bodies.The mobile reference frame could be inertial or non-inertial depending on whether the velocity of the body which it fixed to is constant or variable.Then the lattice Boltzmann method is independently applied to these different reference frames with different sets of distribution functions,grid systems and necessary exchange of information between the interfaces of different grid systems.If the mobile reference frame is non-inertial,the lattice Boltzmann method must be modified so it is able to simulate the Navier-Stokes equations in non-inertial reference frame.The approach is to treat the additional source terms of Navier-Stokes equations in non-inertial reference frame,such as the translational acceleration, Coriolis and centrifugal acceleration terms,as the external force items in LBM.This method can greatly reduce the computational effort for treatment of complicated solid boundaries and offer high resolution near the solid body by putting the outer boundary far away from the body.The numerical simulations of flows past a circular cylinder with and without rotation are carried out as validations and good results are obtained.
