Single well evaluation technology for shale gas

【摘要】:China has enormous resources of shale gas,the technical recoverable resources reached up to 31.6×1012 m3,which ranked first in the world. The technical recoverable resources of global shale gas are about 207×1012 m3. The successful shale gas exploration in the North American has aroused great concern of the world. However,there are few evaluation methods and no uniform standard for single-well evaluation.. It is essential to establish the evaluation standard about the single well evaluation for shale gas,which is very important for prediction of favorable areas and production buildup of core areas for shale gas. In this paper,combined with organic geochemistry data, mineral composition, physical properties data, reservoir pore space, and gas content, we proposed a single well evaluation standard for shale gas. Obtained by experimental measurement or well logging interpretation, the organic geochemical data,including abundance of organic matter, type of organic matter and maturity of organic matter,can indicate the gas generating capacity of shale. Mineral composition, especially the brittle minerals,is of great significance for shale fracturing. We can get mineral composition through whole rock X-ray diffraction, clay quantitative analysis, logging interpretation to evaluate the fracturing ability of shale reservoir. The physical properties, reservoir pore space and gas content all indicate the storage capacity of shale. The physical properties data includes porosity,permeability and water saturation,which can be obtained by analysis of conventional-crushing core and log interpretation. The main reservoir pore space of shale is matrix pore and fractures. By argon ion polishing, field emission scanning electron microscope and fracture prediction, we can do research on the characteristics of pore and fracture. The total gas content, adsorption and free gas content are required for gas content analysis. These parameters can be obtained by on-site gas content measurement,gas adsorption experiments,and log interpretation. Finally,we can establish an integrated single well evaluation technology for shale gas by using all parameters mentioned above.
