【摘要】:正The global financial crisis at the turn of the decade has generated regional divergences with long-term global implications,symbolised by the fast-tracked establishment of the G20(Cooper Subacchi 2010).But is this an association of regional powers by contrast to the G3 of emerging states?This paper suggests that,in terms of prospects for both North,including a diminished Anglo-American centre an EU of the PIIGS,and the‘global South ',we need to distinguish between‘emerging powers'(Shaw,Cooper Chin 2009),‘emerging societies' (Pieterse Rehbein 2009) ‘emerging economies'or companies(Goldstein 2007);ie varieties of capitalisms(Bruff 2008) of civil societies which impact national regional governance.As the BRICs become alternative centres of attraction,other regions like Africa the Caribbean
