Description of time varying topography on the deposition and erosion of granular flows
【摘要】:正We consider the erosion and deposition of the granular flows from the view point of a deforming topography. This is done by treating the moving granular media into two layers:the rapid surface flowing layer and the stagnant deposition heap with a time-varying basal interface to the flow.In this paper we applied a moving coordinate model[Acta.Mech.199,71(2008)]to nvestigate the capability of describing(a) the behavior of granular flows down a incline chute into the horizontal run-out zone and(b) the collapses of a granular column. The rapid surface flowing surface layer and stagnant bed were recorded by a high-speed digital camera.Acceptable qualitative agreement between the numerical result and experimental observation of the final shape of deposition heap were obtain, but simultaneous comparison between them reveals that further investigations on the parameterization of erosion rate, the rheology proposals,and/or the friction laws are needed.
